How To Put Film In Your Polaroid Camera

Well, since you are clicking on this article, I am assuming that you're interested in learning about polaroid cameras and specifically film and taking a polaroid; this is exactly what I am going to teach you.

There are three goals that I have for you the student, and me the teacher to achieve.

1. Teach you how to put film in your polaroid camera

2. Teach you how to use your fully loaded camera

3. Have fun

Step One: Push the Arrow Button

There are two switches on the side of your camera, one goes towards you and the other goes away from you. For this first step, you are going to push the button the goes away from you (button with the arrow.) As you do this the front of the camera will flop down.

Step Two: Film Packet

Now we are going to take our film and open the package without exposing the film to any hard light. Note: By exposing the film to hard light you risk your film being damaged.

Step Three: Film Packet 2.0

Take the film and make sure that the sticker is facing the ground. When you have done this, you are ready for putting the film into your camera!

Note: Not all stickers will be the same color. So, if your sticker is a different color it is “a-okay.”

Step Four: Push It Real Good

Now you might be wondering what this step will be but it simply is just you putting the film into the camera. The real "juicy" part of this tutorial. So with that said, take the film while the sticker is still facing the ground and push inside the camera till you cannot push anymore. And for encouragement, maybe have Push It by Salt n Pepa playing while you do so.

Step Five: Shut It

Shut the flap of the camera. This is the part of the camera the flopped down with Step One.

Step SIx: Scary Emitted Noises

Now you will hear a clicking noise that sounds mechanical and slightly scary. When this happens it also is normal for a black piece of paper to pop out of the camera with newer film and if there is no black piece of paper, that’s cool too.

Step Seven: Click It

Click away! Your camera is locked and ready to help you make memories.

Note: This means you actually have to make memories in order for this to work.

Step Eight: Take Picture

Now that your film is locked and loaded, you can take pictures! So, remember in Step One when we were looking at both of the buttons on our polaroid cameras? Well we are now going to use the button the goes toward us to take a picture. When you are ready for picture taking, push that button. After you push the button, BAM! Your picture will pop out of the front of the camera.

Step Nine: Shake It

Take the polaroid and shake it for at least 15 seconds.

Note: It is not necessary to shake the polaroid, but it is fun to dance. You've Made It!

Hopefully you have enjoyed this tutorial on how to successfully put film into your polaroid camera and how to take a picture with your polaroid camera. Let’s do a quick recap on our steps. Step One: Push The Arrow Button Step Two: Film Packet Step Three: Film Packet 2.0 Step Four: Push It Real Good Step Five: Shut It Step Six: Scary Emitted Noises Step Seven: Click I tStep Eight: Take Picture Step Nine: Shake it Like a Polaroid Picture. Although polaroid cameras are outdated and slightly pricey when it comes to film, they are so worth it because each and every picture you take turns out different. So make memories and have fun and may the lighting be ever in your favor.
